Typically, I design my 3d prints in Google Sketchup (the free version). You can find a whole range of sample builds attached to this page to work from/adapt. From Sketchup, I export the files as .stl format (you will need to install this extension), which can usually be opened by the program which actually does the 3d printing (e.g., the Makerware software for the Makerbot printers, or the Cura software for the Ultimaker printers). I've also included a variety of complete, ready-to-print stimuli and mounts for the transducer here.
