Attention

Attention and motor control

We have two eyes, but only one focus of attention. Some of my earlier work has examined how we direct our focus of attention when are are performing tasks with both of our hands, finding some tentative evidence that right handers will direct their attention toward the right hand during bimanual tasks. Future work will examine how we control our eyes during a wider range of more complex bimanual tasks, and how our patterns of hand-eye coordination change as we learn new skills.
