I was born in Dong Thap, Vietnam, and finished my Ph.D. degree at Ecole Polytechnique in September 2012. My Ph.D. advisor is Professor Denis GREBENKOV. 

I am an associate professor of computer science and the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, the University of Science, Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I am the managing director of the AISIA Research Lab for creating the best research environments for students and training excellent new generations in Machine Learning and Data Science in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

I have been organizing a research group on theoretical machine learning with Dinh Cao Duy Thien Vu (Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, University of Delaware, USA), Lam Si Tung Ho (Associate Professor, Department of Statistics, University of Dalhousie, Canada) and Nguyen Viet Cuong (Applied Scientist, Amazon Inc., USA). 

Up to now, I have had over 30 students winning Ph.D. fellowships in the top universities in Asia, Europe, and the United States of America.
