More on these engines from Cossack Motorcycles
There are many more large Wolf photos on this Hungarian page.
The Ural Wolf engine is a slow beating, torquey 45hp, 750cc air-cooled unit designed to take bike and rider through Siberia - in style!

You do remember how to kick-start a 750 right?
The Wolf repays careful running-in and routine oil changes. Neither task is arduous. Whilst lacking sports bike speeds these engines offer plenty of low speed grunt... yet will give you around 50mpg, and untold smiles per mile.
Here below, a new Ural engine is being expertly factory bench tested...
Carbs need to be carefully balanced as each cylinder should share the workload to avoid any over-heating problems. Inlet and exhaust valves should be kept adjusted correctly - when hot the valves can be heard chattering away - that is OK! Tightly adjusted, very quiet, valves can run far too hot - that is not good. The more you tinker with your bike, the closer your 'bond' with it will become - this is why these bikes become such a blast to own!
A room full of partially assembled Wolves. Hand made for you by experienced engineers - taking their time!

"As we start to flick around the Leicestershire lanes, the most prominent feature of the Wolf is that it handles very well. Not just 'good for a factory custom' but 'good' in the sense of any normal bike.
It's predictable, light to swing around, tracks well -- better than some bikes from more expensive ranges, like Kawasaki's GT750 shaftie, which is a slug by comparison.
The Wolf's shaft-drive is totally unobtrusive. I can't detect it at all, and it doesn't seem to have any detrimental affect on the gearchange, although cog-swapping is a little tight and clunky."
