Video of Ural sidecar
Picture of a Ural with a "boat sidecar" and caravan!
Imagine you are at the Ace Cafe, talking to a bunch of Ural owners. This is what you would hear them say.
(All these are genuine comments, copied from various forums... and from my guestbook, which alas is no more)
"The Wolf is a fab motorbike..."
What have others said?
"I have 8 other motorcycles or atv's... Most are polished to perfection, don't leak, start right up, but have no soul... The Russian bikes though, NEED ME... The rest of the fleet could be gassed and set off to either coast without pause. They really are boring... The Russians are right up my ally. They have become a passion."
"I could go on and on.. cause I love my bike. It is my only transportation and has NEVER left me stranded or broke down... just change the oil every 2500 km... adjust the valves, and keep riding."
My Wolf is my favorite ride. With the addition of a backrest, it is truly a "Road Sofa." And despite the officially listed top speed of 87 mph, my GPS says it will go MUCH faster! The Wolf is a keeper.
"Great! I still love riding it... I must admit that when I first took it out to the Flying Club I thought they would all fall about laughing - but, no - everyone liked it!"
A well balanced Wolf
"It is THE easiest to work on vehicle I've ever seen... You can have the transmission off in 45 minutes. Valve adjustment 15 minutes easy. Head off in just a few. Carb syncing, etc. is a breeze..."
"I rode my Wolf from Seattle to Miami in three days and it was one of the most sweetest rides ever. I did the return trip in 4 and no problems other than an oil change. Funny, I don't like my Harley Sportster anymore. Cheers"
"Today's Urals are WAY different than the ones shipped in the mid 90's... the new models are better than mine.. and I LOVE my bike..."
Wolves also seem to bring out the best in ladies...
"Ummmm in a nutshell... Buy it! Mine is a '98 with over 30,000 km on it and I still love it, even though I wouldn't mind a new one :)"
Wolves bring smiles to faces!
"Six months after I bought it, I sold my Norton and my BMW because they were just gathering dust in the back of my garage. I sold my pickup shortly thereafter - same story as the bikes. Obviously, I really enjoy the Ural."
"Like you. I have had Harley knock offs, the real thing, and a bunch of British iron and after over 30 years of riding and racing I have never enjoyed a bike more than my 2003 Wolf..."
"I cruise at 65-70 with no trouble at all on the Wolf. However, the Wolf is so much fun I tend to wander off to every back road I find!!! "
Let the last owner's words be from a proud '07 Wolf owner. Paul kindly provided me with a photo, and some fine words...
Wolves are cool...
..."I love the bike and get lots of attention on it, its plenty fast enough, and real nimble. I couldn't be happier."
Paul's tip? Ensure all bolts are kept tight by using Loctite or equivalent. It looks like he's certainly enjoying the "Wolf effect" - and why not?!
