Viewing from 10:30 am and sale starting at noon.
Bus services to Ruddington: Nottingham City Transport numbers 3 and 10 from the city centre and rail station. Journey time is 30 minutes. "St Peters' Rooms" is opposite the parish church, entrance is opposite the Co-op. There is no time limit for the car park adjoining the Co-op but some of the street parking has a 2 hour limit.
Bids may be received in person in Ruddington, by email, by phone or by post. Bidders in the room will be supplied with a numbered card once registered.

There is no standard form for bidding but email or letter should state name, address, phone number and email address, together with the lot number(s) and maximum bid(s). Making a bid by whatever method, is regarded as a contract to purchase. Subsequent disinclination to purchase is not a valid cause for complaint. Identical bids will be applied on a first-come, first-served basis. Bids of less than 60% of the published estimates will be respectfully declined. Starting bids and rates of advance will be at the discretion of the auctioneer. Nottingham Philatelic Society will subtract a 10% commission to the selling price of each lot before vendors are paid. There is no buyer’s premium. If bidding on an item is within 10% of the reserve price, it is up to the auctioneer’s discretion to sell the lot. The auctioneer should be informed in advance if a 10% reduction to obtain a sale is not acceptable. No lots may be removed from the sale room until paid for in full. Successful bidders who are not present for the auction will need to pay for the item in full, together with a charge for postage and packing as appropriate. Payment may be made in cash or by cheque on the day. Purchasers not present, may be able to pay by cheque, bank transfer or by Paypal (by arrangement). Unsold lots will be returned after a 10p per lot charge has been paid to NPS by the unsuccessful vendor. Unsold lots that need to be posted will need payment for P&P in addition to the 10p. Sold or unsold lots that are not collected will be disposed of to an appropriate charity on 1st January 2024. Lots marked wit an asterisk * are sold for club funds.
The principle of ‘let the buyer beware’ applies to this auction. Description of a lot was provided by the vendor for the most part. These are not professional valuers and it is the responsibility of potential purchasers to satisfy themselves that the items are genuine. One forgery in a lot consisting of many stamps will not negate the entire lot. It is expected that vendors will refund on lots returned if not as described in this catalogue, but safe return delivery is the responsibility of the purchaser.
