New Old Time Chautauqua - 2012 Application
Hi folks, we're going to Eastern Oregon this summer, and here's where you can apply (online form). Before you do, here are a few details you should know about this year's tour.
The deadline for applications is April 1st, 2012. No fooling. Late applicants will be considered only if space is available. We're limiting the tour to 60 people this year, including kids. This means that it may not be possible for everyone (new or old) who wants to join us. 'Old-timers' (you know who you are) are especially encouraged to be sure you get your application in on time.
You will be hearing from the Who-Am-Us* ( notcwhoamus@gmail.com ) committee by May 1st.
The tentative tour dates are June 20th – July 9th. The tour most likely will start in Baker City, Oregon. It is possible that transportation will be provided from Seattle and Eugene to the beginning of tour. If you cannot use this transportation you are responsible for getting to the start of the tour and home from the end of tour. Chautauqua will provide transport on tour. You are welcome to bring your personal vehicle, but Chautauqua will not reimburse expenses unless your car will be used as a dedicated tour vehicle (shopping, people/gear moving, etc.). Please talk to us about this before hand if you are interested in having your vehicle used as a 'tour vehicle' and having expenses reimbursed.
We are planning an “all Chautauquans invited” weekend in Bend for Chautauquans to join us for the last stop of the tour. It will be 3 or 4 days of all the regular tour stuff - workshops, parade, plates of shame, community shows and a BIG show - all loaded in to one awesome weekend together. This is an excellent option for folks who just can’t make an extended commitment but still want to join the fun. This invite is for Chautauquans and their families only.
Please take the time to read the "Guide to Going on Chautauqua" (see link at the very bottom of page). It will give you some idea of what it is like to be on tour, and suggest ways you will be able to contribute.
Everyone wishing to go on tour needs to fill out their own application. If you have people you are hoping to travel with (performing partners, sweeties, etc.) please mention that in the Other section of the application form.
Parents: If you are intending to bring your kids with you on tour, please list them as part of your application. Please ALSO have them fill out their own applications. Yes, you may help them fill it out.

* The “Who-AmUs” Committee is the group that has to figure out who's going on tour and how we're going to fill all the hats that need filling with a limited number of heads. The committee will make tour participant decisions by the end of April. Contact the Who-Am_Us at notcwhoamus@gmail.com .
