Sunday 19th April
Our circular walk in Thrunton Woods near Morpeth, Thrunton Woods were devastated in the big storm, so now where once we would have been surrounded by trees, the walk is a very open one which has panoramic views right over to the coast.
Thanks to the kind weather gods!

Sunday 5th April Easter Sunday
On spite of Storm Dave and Easter Sunday closure of many stores, we walked from the Retail Park to the start of the Alnwick Greenway. This is phase one of a larger project to create a shared walking/cycling route ultimately from Alnwick to Cornhill, near Coldstream, by opening up old railway track. Sunday 15th March 2026 Seaton Sluice -Holywell Dene Circular.
Windy day but a lovely walk taking in some railway heritage. We even made it to a bird hide to shelter from a shower. We hope you enjoy this slideshow of photographs from the walk by Dave Haddon
Everyone knows Morpeth or at least the High Street and shops. This walk was a circular route around the outskirts of the town taking in much of the new developments and the lesser well-known areas which are not always visited.

Sunday 15th February 2026
Sadly the strange occurance on our previous walk did not recur - Really cold day on the walk, but luckily there was no snow to speak of. Lunch at the cafe in Druridge Bay Country Park after a beach walk before getting back to the start point just as it started to rain . And we even had an outside loo for the faithful!!!, and sadly no wildebeests

A strange thing happened - the sun came out on our enjoyable walk through the super expensive houses at Darras Hall and back through the thick muddy tracks to Ponteland. Photographs by Dave Turpin
Sunday 18th January 2026
Our second normal walk of the year was a visit arranged by Prof Brian Randell to the School of Computing of Newcastle University. which started with a short 28 minutes to the School of Computing, passing a fine stretch of the Medieval City Wall. After visiting the School’s Historic Computing Display, we then walked the short distance to the Discovery Museum (free) and visit the but excellent Enigma Cipher Machine Gallery.
