Northeast Natural History & Supply is making available a large private library of books and other published works on invertebrates belonging to a former professional North American malacologist. The library has been divided into collections of three general subject areas: Marine Biology, Marine Mollusks, and Freshwater/ Terrestrial Mollusks. The collection will be sold via silent auction with each collection subject area offered as a unit; with each going to the highest bidder(s). The entire collection contains approximately 675 total items including Agassiz’ “Coral Reefs of the Tropical Pacific (“Albatross Expedition”)”, Deichman’s “Alcyonaria of the Western Part of the Atlantic”, “Molluscan Taxa Described by Tadashige Habe” by Okamoto, Sowerby’s “Thesaurus Conchyliorum”, “Vergleichende Anatomie, Phylogenie and Historische Biogeograpie de Ampullariidae” by Berthold, Connolly’s “Monographic Survey of South African Marine Mollusca”; and complete sets of Libbie Hyman’s “The Invertebrates”, “Historical Review of the Mollusca of Linnaeus”, and “Contributions of the Bermuda Biological Station.” There are over two dozen works signed by their authors, as well as a late 20th Century copy of Darwin’s Geologic Observations… of South America Visited during the Voyage of the H.M.S. Beagle” thrown in; just for good measure.
Each of the three lists is attached BELOW in Portable Document Format (pdf file) readable with various software (Adobe, Foxit, DigiSigner, et al.) or by clicking the file name link. Bidding will be notified by March 6th.
