3-30-18 - Ravenwood United neighbors file concerns about the project with the City Planning Dept. via Attorney Bryan Telegin of Bricklin & Newman, LLP (see attached below).
10-29-17 - District 4 Council member Rob Johnson hosted a, "neighborhood conversation" (not a public hearing) on Monday, October 30th, location 7:00 – 8:30pm in the Fireside Room of the Wedgwood Presbyterian Church, located at 8008 35th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98115.
Per Rob Johnson: "I’m glad you are able to join us for our community meeting coming up on Monday. I wanted to confirm that this meeting will be held from 7:00 – 8:30pm in the Fireside Room of the Wedgwood Presbyterian Church, located at8008 35th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98115. Please note, we chose this location based on the 24 RSVPs received and can accommodate up to 50 people. I want to set expectations for this meeting by letting folks know that the format of this meeting is a neighborhood conversation – a chance for me to hear from and connect with my constituents. It is not a public hearing -- there was a formal public hearing offered by the Department of Construction and Inspections on earlier this month on October 5th. I am glad that neighbors had the opportunity to participate in the public meeting SDCI hosted a few weeks ago.
Because I have recused myself from the official process with SDCI, we are making our office and Quinn Majeski of the Mayor’s office available to be responsive to your concerns about the process. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the office at 206.684.8808."
10-27-17 - Mr. Sean Conrad e-mailed out a list of his notes from the 10/5 public hearing. His notes are attached below.
10-5-17 - Public hearing completed at Wedgwood Presbyterian Church; some 40 to 60 persons attended; all who spoke opposed the Conditional Use permit application. 20 or so neighbors spoke for 3 to 5 minutes each, offering different perspectives as to why this proposed project should be rejected.
10/2/17 - U. Prep. sends out outreach e-mail, which few accept as being sincere. Where was this outreach in 2014 at the time of the Land Use interpretation? Thanks for nothing.
9/27/17 - Address for public hearing is corrected to 35th AVE NE, not 36th AVE NE. Next RavenWoodUnited Meeting to be held on Tuesday, 6 pm. Location TBD.
9/19/17 - Date of public hearing is October 5th, Thursday, at 7 pm; location is Wedgwood Presbyterian Church at 8008 35th AVE NE.
9/19/17 - Date of tentative public hearing to be likely in October, with location/time to be determined; stay tuned for more info. Formal comments and concerns posted to City website (see Renourd, 9/15/17 or attachment below.)
9/15/17 - Date of tentative public hearing changed possibly to week after Sept. 28 with location/time to be determined; stay tuned for more info.
Per Sean Conrad's e-mail (sent 9/14/17, Seattle Land Use Planner, Dept. of Construction and Inspections): "The public meeting will not be held on Sept. 28th but will most likely be held the following week. I have not confirmed this yet as I am still contacting potential meeting places in close proximity to your neighborhood. A meeting notice will be sent once a meeting place, time and date are confirmed."
9/06/17 - A tentative public hearing date has been set for September 28 (time to be determined). The hearing will be held at: City Council Chambers, located at 2nd floor, Seattle City Hall, 600 Fourth Avenue, Seattle, WA. According to Sean Conrad, (Seattle Land Use Planner), the Public Meeting will be on September 28 and notice will be sent to all letter writers, petition signers, and all within 300 feet. Comments are taken for consideration right up to the decision, noting however, that sooner is more influential than last minute before decision.
If you have not yet submitted your public comment in opposition of this project, please consider doing so as soon as possible! Although the minimum comment window has closed (as of Sept. 6th), the City will continue to receive and accept comments until a decision is made; however, the sooner your comment is submitted, the sooner it may be considered.
