It's February. Conditions are part of the race.
Snow, ice, mud, frozen ground or a surprisingly pleasant winter day are all possibilities. Come prepared for the conditions you get.
The current course configuration brings runners past Summit Field twice and the Turtle Back parking area, providing three opportunities for aid during each 10-mile loop. The additional aid access was added specifically to better support runners during Febapple's colder conditions.
WINTER RUNNING
BRING A HEADLAMP.
The 50 Mile starts before sunrise, and depending on your distance and pace, you may still be on the course after sunset. Bring a headlamp and be prepared for winter conditions.
WHY “FEBAPPLE?”
SO…WHAT'S A FEBAPPLE?
Good question.
The course originally came from the Mayapple 50K and 100K. Rick liked the course, wanted to use it during the winter, decided February seemed like a good time to do it—and Febapple was born.
What is a Febapple? We have no idea.
