In addition to our traditional outdoor camping trips, Pack 59 tries to have one adventure overnight per year, typically in the spring. Below is a list of some of the places we have had our overnights in the past. As a Scout in our Pack you could attend these places, too!
Battleship New Jersey, Camden NJ
USS Constellation, Baltimore MD
Adventure Aquarium, Camden NJ
Fort Mifflin, Philadelphia PA
Franklin Institute, Philadelphia PA
Delaware Museum of Nature & Science, Wilmington DE
We also have other fun trips including Trenton Thunder games which let us camp on the field overnight!
A Scout is Kind - so we recommend helping others carry their camping gear back an forth to the site. The specific items to pack differ for each location we visit. The Quartermaster, trip coordinator, or Cubmaster will send an agenda and packing list unique for the trip close to the event.
A Scout is Courteous - we do not wonder through other peoples' sleeping areas. We also do not run through public areas as this is a sign of respect to the place we are visiting.
A Scout is Clean - We will pack up the location and leave it cleaner than how we found it, including packing out all trash we find, even if it wasn't ours.
In accordance with the Guide to Safe Scouting, and rules at most Scout Reservations at which we visit, there are NO: firearms, fixed blades, fireworks, or other explosives permitted; no alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs (regardless if they are legal in that state) for adults or scouts; event without at least two registered leaders at a minimum of one BALOO trained (we recommend two); tent may be shared by anyone other than siblings and legal parents/guardians.
Most importantly, have a great time! A Scout is Cheerful, after all!
