2020 Summer Camp

There are summer camp opportunities for all ages. Camp is "fun with a purpose" where new friends and memories are made. All Scouts will be one rank higher come June 1 which means all Scouts have an opportunity to attend something this summer.

Below are opportunities for 2020 Tigers through Webelos.

Tiger Twilight

  • June 23, 24 & 25, 2020
  • Daily, gathering is from 4:45pm to 5:15pm each evening. The opening ceremony is at 5:15pm. Closing is at 8:15pm.
  • Tiger Twilight is open to youth who have graduated Kindergarten and will be entering first grade in Fall 2020. Tiger Twilight is not for anyone currently registered as a Tiger. Tiger Twilight is for new Tiger Cubs and a great option for current Lions or new youth recruited in Spring 2020.
  • For twilight camp, each Scout is required to have an adult partner in camp with them. Please note that this can be a parent, relative, or trusted family friend who is age 21 or older.
  • $45 for each Scout and adult partner

Cub Day Camp

  • We have selected July 6 to 10 as our Pack week at Cub Day Camp at Pine Tree Education and Environmental Center (Tabernacle).
  • Activities include daily archery, BB guns, swimming, crafts, nature, science, sports, gaga and games.
  • 8:30 to 4 pm daily
  • Scout registered by 4/30/2020: $215
  • Registered adults can volunteer for a refund discount: For every full week that someone is able to volunteer at the Pine Tree or Pine Hill day camp, he/she will receive a refund of $50. (If family members work together to provide full-week coverage, that also counts for the $50 refund.)
  • To get more Scouts to camp we need drivers. Tina will be coordinating drivers and scouts-in-cars. If you can commit, for any of the days July 6 to 10, please let Tina know so she can add you to the driver list. Just mornings, just afternoons, both time slots, partial week, etc. -- it's all helpful.
  • Parents or dens can organize other dates if necessary on their own.

Webelos Resident Camp

  • Garden State Council Webelos Resident (Overnight) Camp
  • August 2 to 6: Webelos Resident Camp is a 4-night, 5-day program (an extra night and day was added for 2020) for youth entering 4th or 5th grade in September. It is held at the Roosevelt Scout Reservation (in Elmer, NJ - Salem County). Webelos Resident Camp is a great way to give your scout a "Scouts BSA camp experience" before he or she bridges into a Scouts
  • Scouts: Registered by 6/15: $210
  • Adult Leader Fee: $80. Units will receive 1 free leader for every 5 Scouts. Units are guaranteed a minimum of 2 free leaders.
  • Den Chiefs: $80

Webelos Outdoor Adventure at Camp Yawgoog

Webelos Outdoor Adventure at Camp Yawgoog - 7 Days & Nights:

  • August 9 to 16 will be the dates if anyone wants to join Matt and me for a trip up to Rhode Island at Yawgoog Scout Reservation (I camped there for five years and worked there for four summers). While parents do not need to stay at all at camp we will need transportation.
  • They offer a Webelos program as follows: "We know that boys and girls are attracted to Scouting by the promise of adventure in the great outdoors! That’s why we’re all so excited about the Webelos program at Yawgoog – especially designed for your Webelos Scout. This program will run each of the eight weeks of summer camp and will give your Scout the experience of a lifetime. Arrival at camp is on Sunday afternoon and you will be greeted by our trained staff in Camp Medicine Bow, Campsite Sequan. Your Scout will then be assigned to a 12’ X 16’ Adirondacks (complete with bunk beds) with five other Webelos who will form a den. If other Scouts from the pack are attending we’ll make sure they’re in the same Adirondacks! Adult leaders are housed in separate tents. As your Scout settles in you’ll have a chance to meet and talk with the camp staff about the week ahead. Activities will begin that evening with a tour of camp, pizza followed by a welcome campfire in the campsite. Then at 9:45 it’s “taps”, giving Scouts the opportunity to dream about the adventure that lies ahead!"
  • Den Leaders are welcome to attend but are not required. Parents wishing to attend need to be registered with the BSA and provide proof of Youth Protection Training at check-in. A Den or Pack sending four or more Scouts will be allowed to have one leader stay the week for free. Half week sessions are available (Sunday through Wednesday Evening or Wednesday through Sunday).
  • Program for Webelos Scouts will include but is not limited to: knot tying, BB range, archery, nature, pioneering, first aid, forestry, low-ropes, initiative games, handicap awareness trail, rowing, swimming, water sports, leatherwork, basketry, star gazing and hiking. Ample free time is also given to just take it easy.
  • Scout: $470.00 for the first week, $235.00 for a second week
  • Den Leader / Registered Adult: $250 for the week
