How to Back Up Your External SSD with IDrive:
Connect: Plug your external SSD into your computer.
Open IDrive: Launch the IDrive application.
Select Source/Destination:
For File/Folder Backup: Go to the "Backup" section, click "Change," and select your SSD's folders.
For Disk Clone (System Image): Choose "Clone/Computer Backup," then "Disk clone," and select the SSD as the source drive or the local backup destination.
Schedule: Set up your backup schedule so it runs when the SSD is attached.
Run: Start the backup manually or let the schedule run.
Key Points:
Flexibility: You can back up files from the SSD to the cloud, or back up your computer to the external SSD (local backup).
Incremental Backups: IDrive only backs up changes after the first full backup, saving time and space.
Drive Letter: Ensure your SSD has a drive letter assigned for the app to recognize it.
Local vs. Sync: Use the "Backup" feature for true backups; the "Cloud Drive" is for syncing, which works differently.
Synology and QNAP Backup.
Available as an add-on:
1 TB: $40.00/year
2 TB: $80.00/year
5 TB: $200.00/year
