Travel / Tournament Softball Umpires:

The NFOA assigns umpires for over 160 girl’s fast-pitch travel softball teams. These include teams in: the Metro Girls Softball League Inc and the Niagara Frontier Girls Softball Association. The age divisions range from 10 and under to 23 and under/open. Games are played throughout Western New York, mostly in May, June & July. Over 90% of the games use a two-man umpire crew.

The NFOA also provides umpires for more than twenty girl’s fast-pitchtournaments from early May through mid August. There are also a few fall tournaments in September and October. Training for these umpire assignments usually begins in January or February.

Recreational Softball Umpires:

The NFOA assigns umpires for youth baseball and softball leagues and Adult slow-pitch leagues for the Town of Tonawanda. Slow-pitch uses one man behind the plate while the baseball & softball leagues use one man behind the pitcher. The 16 and under baseball division uses a two-man umpire crew.Training for these leagues usually begins in late April or early May.
