Blaze your Trail!
The 1st North Gower - Kars Scout Troop meets on Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30pm. If we are not at the NGRA building, we're probably at Camp Tamarack or somewhere else doing something fun.
We take Adventure to the next level – our Troop blazes its own trail.
In the past few years we've attended the Canadian Jamboree in Nova Scotia; made Klondike Sleds and competed in a Klondike Derby; camped with a 1000 other Scouts at the International Brotherhood Camporee; volunteered at a pancake breakfast, a nursery school movie night and a ball tournament dinner; camped in the snow at Camp Tamarack; traded badges; gone scuba diving and snorkelling; earned our axe & saw, stove & lantern and knife permits; hiked at night (sometimes on snowshoes); held campfires; attended a week long summer camp; canoed the Rideau Canal; made rafts; hiked and camped (with blackflies) in the Marlborough Forest; travelled to Finland; built and raced Scout Trucks; and done lots of other fun things.
And we have lots more hiking, canoeing and camping planned. If this sounds like fun, why not come and join us!
If you are new to Scouting, checkout our Scouting 101 for Parents on the Home page or our Troop FAQs .
In July 2022, the 1st North Gower - Kars Scouts went to Finland for the Finland Jamboree. We joined over 13,500 Scouts and Guides from Finland and around the world and camped in a Finnish forest beside crystal clear lakes in a once in a lifetime experience.
Before the Jamboree we took an overnight train to Lapland to visit Santa's Village and afterwards we visited Helsinki.
