Parents and carers are the heart of what we do. There are so many ways you can enhance your child's experience and help us make the group even better. Please e-mail us to volunteer we REALLY DO NEED YOU!

Join in with the fun

It's not just the kids that can enjoy Scouting and Guiding. There are lots of opportunities for you to get involved.

All our sections have a range of badges that your child can achieve at home. Supporting your child as they do this and encouraging them to try new activities is an essential part of the Scout and Guide programmes. You can find links to badge information on our section pages.

Help the group

There are so many ways you can help the group so that the experience for everyone is improved. Your help is always appreciated. You can help make a real difference by:

• • Giving us a hand at maintaining, repairing and sorting out our equipment and by helping us do some odd jobs at our Woodlands Road Activity Site.

  • Help us to plan or run our fundraising events and spread the word about them to your friends and family.

  • Come along to our AGM (Annual General Meeting), see what we do or even get elected onto our Executive Committee.

  • Volunteer at our section meetings. There's a role for everyone from full warranted Leaders and Assistants (fully trained and uniformed role), to Sectional Assistants/Unit Helpers (trained in the essentials but don't have to make the promise) and Occasional Helpers (not a formal appointment so you only have to complete a CRB check).
