Hiring: Post-Doc in Breast Cancer Research with a Focus on Drug Search Algorithm (Fresh-graduate-to-be is welcome)
Position: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
Location: Department of Biomedical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan
Start date: Aug 01, 2024
Contract length: 1-3 years
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and refine the AI-enhanced microscopic-combined Phenotypic Response Surface (PRS) system for drug combination identification.
Engage in in-depth microscopic assessments of drug impacts on multicellular tumor spheroids (MCTSs).
Contribute to the development and enhancement of our spheroid culture models to closely mimic tumor environments.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to publications in leading scientific journals.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in [Relevant Field: e.g., Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline].
Experience in AI applications in biomedical research is a distinct advantage.
Background in cancer biology
Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Remuneration is competitive and in accordance with the standards set by the National Cheng Kung University. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process.

本實驗室研究主題主要是透過建立體外細胞與組織培養的模型幫助科研人員與醫師探討疾病產生的機制，建構如腫瘤微環境探討癌症如何轉移與如何用藥抑制該過程；肝組織以研究藥物的代謝功能；韌帶組織探討力學刺激與細胞間的貼附如何造成韌帶退化與病變等。各研究主題皆需要工程與生物技術之整合，故對微流體技術、細胞外基質材料、快速製成技術、影像分析等皆有高度的興趣，且需要各種不同背景的學生與研究人員加入，歡迎聯繫涂庭源老師洽談 tytu@bme.ncku.edu.tw
ABOUT US
As an interdisciplinary research lab, IMBSLab is focusing on the integration of engineering and biology. Our mission is to advance the understanding of disease mechanisms through the development of in vitro models of cell and tissue culture.
Our research directions include the construction of a tumor microenvironment to investigate the process of cancer metastasis and the development of drugs to inhibit it. We also study liver tissue to understand the metabolic function of drugs and explore how mechanical stimulation and cell-to-cell attachment can lead to ligament degradation and lesions.
At IMBSLab, our research requires a multidisciplinary approach, and we are highly interested in microfluidics, extracellular matrix materials, rapid manufacturing technology, and image analysis, among other fields. We welcome students and researchers from diverse backgrounds who share our passion for integrating engineering and biology to join us.
Our lab is dedicated to promoting research that makes a meaningful impact on society.
