UPDATE:
Public Announcement! From Director of The Kiamichi Mountains Christian Mission, Honobia, Oklahoma.
Official Statement from Christ's 40 Acres concerning the Honobia Bigfoot Festival and Conference:
For the past eight years, The Honobia Bigfoot Festival and Conference has been operated at Christ's 40 Acres near Honobia, Oklahoma in a partnership between Christ's 40 Acres and the Honobia Bigfoot Organization. Christ's 40 Acres provided the property free of charge and many of the volunteers, and the Honobia Bigfoot Organization provided the leadership and volunteers. Each year adjustments needed to be made in order to accommodate the growth of the festival and the growth of the Mission at Christ's 40 Acres.
An agreement could not be reached for the Festival for 2024. Therefore, Christ's 40 Acres decided to continue the Festival, beginning next year, October 4, 5, & 6, 2024 with the following adjustments:
1. We will name our event “Bigfoot at the 40 Festival & Conference of Honobia”.
2. Donations taken at the gate will still be used to cover the expenses with any excess used to provide Scholarships for kids to attend Summer Camp just as we have always done in the past years.
3. 30 additional acres owned by the Mission are being developed for additional parking and camping and three restrooms with showers are being remodeled or constructed.
4. Vendor prices will be dropped to half of what they have been. This will be for the first year and then they will increase to a more suitable rate.
5. Other amenities, activities, and competitions will also be added to continue to draw more to this exciting event with the goal of growing to at least 15,000 in attendance each year.
6. The “Outpost” with an exclusive on the Brand Tee-Shirts will still be available with additional products. All profits will provide Scholarships for Summer Camp as well as other special missions and outreach projects.
7. Most of those who have been involved with the Bigfoot Festival & Conference in the past, including some HBO board members, will continue to be involved so the public will notice very little change in the event except the improvements.
8. Vendors will contact a new Festival Director and promotion will be handled by the Mission Staff.
9. More funding will be invested in the Conference which will draw even more impressive speakers to expand and update our knowledge of the “Bigfoot Phenomenon”.
10. Vendors will be allowed to remain open after five o’clock into the evening hours and our event will be expanded through Sunday evening. The event will begin on Thursday evening with a Vendors & Volunteers Dinner and conclude at Sunday evening after the concert.
11. The "Kid-Zone" will be free to all children.
12. A non-denominational Worship Service will be added on Sunday Morning for those who wish to attend.
If you have any questions, concerns, or need to reserve a vendor space or campsite, please contact Artie Carnes, Director, at (918) 942-8869.
THERE WILL BE A BIGFOOT FESTIVAL AND CONFERENCE IN HONOBIA OKLAHOMA AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO EXPAND AND IMPROVE IT SO IT CAN BE THE FUN AND EXCITING EVENT IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN.
In addition, A "SPRING MUSIC FESTIVAL" has been scheduled at Christ's 40 Acres for April 5-8, 2024. Many musical acts from Branson and other places will be present for a great weekend of music and fun before the Great North American Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th. Vendor spaces and campsite are already filling up for this event. It will be similar to the Bigfoot Festival but with great music on four stages all day and concerts each evening.
