I take an eclectic approach to psychotherapy, tailoring treatment to the needs and preferences of the individual. I have training in a variety of therapy modalities. Each is evidence-based and used to treat different types of people and different types of problems. We will work together to figure out what approach makes the most sense for you.
In particular, I frequently use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful therapy for the effects of trauma as well as the variety of negative experiences and messages many of us received as children.
My training includes:
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Attachment-based Therapy
Relational Approach
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Couples Counseling
