Education

As an association we have members of varying knowledge and experience, we are delighted to offer a mentor system so that the wealth of knowledge from our experienced beekeepers can be shared with those who would like to learn more.

The education programme is being updated and it is hoped to offer more practical sessions and workshops.

The website will be updated as plans are confirmed

"When I joined the Nairn and District Association I was new to beekeeping. I knew that I needed to learn more and took part in the Beekeeping for Beginners Course. The course was a great way to learn about getting started in beekeeping. It is taught in a easy and informative way, comprehensive and really valuable. It's a good foundation for further learning.

For those starting out I would strongly recommend attending this course, it will give you the information you need on the equipment and techniques to navigate the issues you will encounter when setting out to keep bees. It's also a great refresher for those who want to revisit topics. It can all seem a bit overwhelming to begin with, we may not have all the answers immediately to hand but will endeavour to find out and put you in touch with someone who can help."
