Girls' DI Highlights:
Padua's Lydia Olivere won 4 events to lead her team to a team title! Besides anchoring the winning 4 x 800m Relay, Olivere was victorious in the 3200m/11:15.94 (run Saturday after a storm halted competition Friday evening), the 1600m/5:01.09, and the 800m/2:14.32.
Middletown's Daija Lampkin won both the 100m/11.85 and the 200m/23.76 and anchored the winning 4 x 200m Relay.
Smyrna's Myrissa McFolling-Young won both throwing events - Shot Put/41' 6.5" and Discus/139' 11".

NCC Meet Did Not Disappoint! Padua & Sallies are Team Champs! New State Record in 400m Girls, County Meet Records Fall!
After returning to Baynard due to a weather postponement on Saturday, near perfect conditions yielded spectacular performances on both the track and the field Monday evening.
Girls' Highlights:
Daija Lampkin setting 400m State Record.
G 400m
Middletown's Daija Lampkin became the first Delaware girl to break 54 seconds in the 400m, setting a new state record with a time of 53.93!
Lampkin was also the 200m champ (23.99) and was on her team's winning 4 x 200m (with Erika Jones, Mia Cook, Andrea Jones). A false start in the preliminary round of the 100m prevented her from vying for a 4th gold.
Padua's Lydia Olivere took home 4 gold medals, starting Friday night with the #10 All Time, 4 x 800m (anchoring after teammates Maddie Olivere, Victoria Steinhoff, Lizzy Bader), followed by the 3200m (10:42.36). Back on the track Monday to win the 1600m in 5:02.21 and the 800m in 2:11.88 - a new County Meet Record and #4 All Time!
Padua's Taliah Cintron displayed dominance in the 300m Hurdles, winning her 4th straight championship with a time of 43.96!
Padua's Camryn Harris moved up to #2 All Time in the Pole Vault, clearing 12 feet!

G 800m
Boys' Highlights:
In a race where 5 boys went under 1:57.0, Mt. Pleasant's Johnelle Joe out leaned Salesianum's George Steinhoff, to set a new meet record in the 800m - 1:52.89 - #4 All Time! Steinhoff's time of 1:52.95 earned him the #5 All Time spot, coming off an earlier win in the 1600m (4:21.98). Rounding off the top five in the 800m were Howard's Ian Chege (1:55.90), Tatnall's Brad Keen (1:55.92), and Charter's Chris Brown (1:56.86).

B 800m
Eddie Rosembert, of Howard, took home two gold medals for the Wildcats with a win in the 200m/21.51, tied for #7 All Time, and the 400m/48.10, #8 All Time!
Rosembert with eyes focused on the finish line in the 400m.
Mount Pleasant's Malachi Davis started the meet at Charter Friday evening with a win in the Triple Jump - 49' 3" - winning the event for the 3rd straight year! He came back Monday to defend his title in the Long Jump in 23' 2" - #10 All Time.

Two Freshman Records Fall in West Chester!
Tatnall's Napoleon Hernandez and Charter's Andrew Avila made the record books in the 800m and 3200m respectively. Hernandez erased the 35 year mark set by future state record holder, Bruce Harris of Dover in 1982!! His time of of 1:55.58 earned 4th place, one spot behind the senior from Sallies, George Steinhoff - 1:55.32. Avila, also placed 4th running the 3200m in 9:25.47, to steal the spot set by Stephen Garrett, of Tatnall, in 2012.
Also notable from the elite meet in West Chester were wins by Lydia Olivere (Padua), in the 3200m - 10:30.47 - #3 All Time, Keelin Hays (Tatnall), 1600m/4:55.89, Taliah Cintron (Padua), 300m Hurdles/43.85, and Darby Deutsch (Padua), Pole Vault/11'0"!

DAY 1 Highlights:
Smyrna's Myrissa McFolling-Young Sets New State Record in the Discus - 156' 9"!!
McFollling-Young shattered the previous state record of 147' 4" set by Sarah Hillman (Polytech) in 2014, to place 4th overall at Penn (behind athletes from Jamaica, California and Ohio).
The girls from Padua placed 3rd in the DMR (11:52.51), with a blistering 4:45.96 1600m split from junior, Lydia Olivere! Maddie Olivere (1200/3:47.45), Taliah Cintron(400/58.45), and Lizzy Bader (800m/2:20.68).
Tatnall girls were the champs in the 4 x 400m Northern Delaware Section (4:00.65) - Keelin Hays (61.67), Savannah Pankow (59.05), Lauren Anshen (63.15) & Kayla Woods(56.79).
Boys' Highlights:
Howard Wins the Philadelphia Area 4 x 400m!
The boys from Howard, after advancing from the Northern Delaware heat Saturday morning, won the Philadelphia Area Championship race later in the day! The foursome of Ian Chege/49.21, Eddie Rosembert/48.35, Julian Brown/50.19 & Brandon Justin/48.59, crossed the line just .001 ahead of challenger Rancocas Valley (New Jersey), in 3:16.32.
Tatnall boys (Brad Keen/2:01.41, Napolean Hernandez/1:54.43, Larry Mathis/1:59.07 & Max Hardin/1:57.12), had the fastest Delaware time of the day in the 4 x 800m - 7:52.01 - #6 All Time.
Malachi Davis (Mount Pleasant) placed 5th in the Triple Jump with a leap of 48' 4.5"!

Padua Junior, Lydia Olivere, is the Winner in the Mile - 4:53.43!
The Pandas also took 2nd in the 4 x 1600m Relay (Maddie Olivere/5:18.2, Alicia Lenoir/5:34.5, Lydia Olivere/4:56.2 & Hannah Apostolico/5:38.1), and 3rd in the 4 x 800m Relay (Lizzy Bader/2:20.9, Katie Hally/2:24.5, Apostolico/2:24.1 & M. Olivere/2:26.8).

The Boys' 800m proved to be an exciting race, with 4 boys breaking 2:00. Mt. Pleasant's Johnelle Joe was the winner in 1:54.29 (#10 All Time). Behind him were George Steinhoff(Sallies)/1:55.78, Chris Brown (Charter)/1:58.93, and Sean Banko (Sallies)/1:59.89.
Mt. Pleasant's Malachi Davis took home three individual golds, winning the 200m/22.98, the Long Jump/22-06.00 and the Triple Jump/46-10.75!
The boys from Dover easily won the 4 x 800m in 8:07.74, nearly 23 seconds ahead of runner-up Caesar Rodney!

Delaware Runners Place 4th in the Premier 1600m Event at Henderson!
Tatnall's Keelin Hays moved up in the final stretch and crossed the line in 5:04.30. Hays was winner of the 3200m/11:14.20 later in the evening.
Salesianum's George Steinhoff broke the 4:20 barrier finishing in 4:19.57.
Tatnall's Kayla Woods took first in the 400m - 57.28!
