Congratulations to 2019 All State Selections!
All State Selection Criteria
Each All State Team (1st, 2nd, 3rd) has 7 members. Competitors with the Top 21 OVERALL combined times in Division I & Division II, at the state championships, are automatically placed on one of the All State teams. The top 5 are automatic first team, 6 - 10 are second team or better.

DIAA State Championships, Killens Pond
Ursuline squeaks past St. Mark's for DII State Title/Padua Repeats as DI State Champion!
Highlights:
Tatnall freshman, Lydia Colasante, took the DII individual honors clocking the girls’ fastest time of the day (18:48), #18 on the All Time List at Killens.

Ursuline narrowly claimed victory over runner-up, St. Mark’s, by 2 points, 50-52. This is the 3rd time since 1984 that the team title was settled by 2 points or less. Ursuline managed to get their 5 scoring runners in the top 15, Anna Pryor/5th, Alaina McGonigle/8th, Clare Kornacki/10th, Emily Rzucidlo/12th, and Ava Lindia/15th. St. Mark’s aggressive front running gave the Raiders a scare. Sophomore, Tiffany Herrera and freshman Natalie Donaldson, pushed the pace late in the race to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively. Brandywine's Maisie Donahue, the New Castle County champion, finished 4th. The top 4 girls broke into the Killens Pond All time List. Rounding out the top ten were 6th place Malorie Hollway ( Conrad), 7th place Jordan Ormsby (St. Mark’s), and 9th place Stephanie Herrera (St. Mark’s).

Padua won their 7th consecutive DI title, 50-102 over Charter School of Wilmington. Padua junior, Judy McLaughlin, led the Pandas to victory, taking individual honors in 19:04. Padua placed 5 in the top 21, Mary Katherine Dorsey/10th, Geneva Laur/11th, Elena Bochetti/12th, and Mackenzie Speed/21st. Charter was led by Maya Bordrick’s 2nd place finish in 19:10 and Maria Lombardi taking 7th in 19:30. Keely Arndt of Caesar Rodney closed strong to finish 3rd in 19:12. Alyssa Brinsky, after leading for more than 2.5miles finished 4th in 19:20. Smyrna also placed 2 in the top 10, Sarah LaRose/5th in 19:27 and Raegan Sebastianelli6th in 19:29. Faith Mitchell, from Milford placed 8th in 19:40.

Charter School of Wilmington edges past Salesianum for DI State Title/Wilmington Friends takes down Tatnall to become the DII Champion!
Highlights:
Salesianum Senior, Aidan Higley, in an upset win, handed Andrew Avila his first lost among DE runners this season. Higley ran 15:48, the fastest boys’ time of the day and good for 10th on the All time list at Killens. Avila was 2nd in 15:53, 12th on the All Time List.

The team title was decided by just 3 points, with the Force coming out on top over Salesianum, 39-42. Avila was followed by teammates Prasanna Krishnamoorth/6th, Jesse Herdman/7th, Charles Davis/10th, Luke Mathe/14th. This is the 6th time since 1954 that the D1 team tile was settled by 3 points or less. Also in the top 10 were Ryan Banko/3rd from Salesianum, Blaise Moyer/4th from Caesar Rodney, Ethan Edery/5th from Cape Henlopen, Jack Welch/8th from Concord, and Conor Ryan/9th from Salesianum.

Wilmingtom Friends bested Tatnall by 10 points, 66-76 to take the DII team title - the first time Tatnall has been beaten in the state meet since 2008. Tatnall junior Declan McDonnell won the race in 16:03, good for 20th on the All time list.

Friends was led by Chris Rosado/4th, Luke Munch/8th, Max Leffler/12th, and Marcel Stewart/13th. Rounding out the top 10 were Quinn O’Dell/2nd from DMA, Blake Hundley/3rd from St. Andrews, Jack Vito/5th from St. Mark’s, Ezekial Dawkins/6th from Newark, Owen Phillips/7th from Archmere, Andrew Overman/9th from Wm. Christian, and Jake Mundoch/10th from Sussex Academy.
