Championship Highlights:

Lamar Bruton, a recent Howard Tech graduate, takes 2nd in the 400m - 46.21;

Alexis Reeves, a recent Delcastle Tech grad, leaps 19-02.50 to take 5th;

Julie Williams, a graduate of Tatnall, also places 5th in the 1 Mile - 4:51.37;

Philip Bale, Salesianum graduate, places 7th in the Octathlon - 4647 points;

Miaya Dendy, a rising junior from Padua, places 8th and 9th in the 400m (55.09) and 200m (24.63);

Ryan Thomas, a rising senior from Milford, takes 8th and 9th in the Triple (47-09.75) and Long (22-01.75) jumps;

Cavender Salvadori, a recent Friends graduate, takes 9th in the 2000m Steeplechase event.

Local runners shine running amid national talent! - This was a premier, post-season meet, hosted in nearby West Chester allowing runners of all ages to warm-up and run shoulder-to-shoulder with the nation's elite. If you haven't been there, consider adding this meet to your post-season race schedule in 2014.

Reagan Anderson (Tatnall) rolls to a 4:44.59 mile, #1 on the Delaware All Time List! She finished 6th among the nation's best milers.

Records Fall in Dover Wednesday Night!

(3 State Records along with 4 New MOC Marks Set)

Maiya Dendy, Padua, breaks the state record in the 400m, running 54.37! She also set a new Meet of Champs Record winning the 200m in 24.05. Golds in the 100m and 4 x 400m (with Jacki D'Amico, Haley Lucey, and Angie Spadaccini) complete the evening.

Reagan Anderson, Tatnall, breaks her own state record in the 800m from the same meet last year, running 2:08.58! She also anchored the winning 4 x 800m (with Amy Gaito, Lindsay Voltz, and Jill Reinhardt).

Lamar Bruton, Howard Tech, improved on his own state record in the 400m, crossing the line from lane 8 with a time of 47.02! He also anchored the champion 4 x 400m (withShahid Nuriddin, Darrell Truitt, and Emanuel Hitch). The wildcats set a Meet of Champs Record in the relay running 3:18.16.

Two other MOC relay marks fall:

Caesar Rodney boys (Austinio Brown, Stuart Higginbotham, Daylakashawn McDonald, and Adrian Trammell) run 1:27.96 in the 4 x 200m, breaking the oldest mark of the night (Dover High in 2001).

The boys from Salesianum (Joseph Casini, Ryan Hughes, Pat Hally, and Liam Magerr), set a MOC record in the 4 x 800m running 7:55.83.

Other Highlights:

Mykele Sanders, Dover, Ryan Thomas, Milford, and Jack Hagood, Tatnall, are all double winners. Sanders swept the hurdle events (100mH - 14.35, 300mH - 37.85), Thomas the horizontal Jumps (Long Jump - 23-02.00, Triple Jump - 48-03.50), and Hagood won both the 1600m (4:15.92) and 800m (1:55.24).

For the girls, Tatnall's Julie Williams wins gold in both the 1600m (4:58.92) and the 3200m (10:48.60).

State Championships

Caesar Rodney/Caravel Boys and Smyrna/Padua Girls Take State DI/DII Team Titles!

Boys' Highlights:

Ryan Thomas, of Milford, sets a Division I Record in the Triple Jump - 49' 3"! He also was yesterday's winner in the Long Jump (23' 3").

Brandon Stacy, of Caravel, gets a State Meet Record in the Pole Vault - 14-07.25!

Mykele Sanders, of Dover, wins DI 100mH, 300mH, 200m and anchored the Senator's runner-up 4 x 200m.

Jack Hagood, from Tatnall, coming back from his DII 3200m victory on Day 1, wins Saturday's 1600m and 800m. He also ran on Tatnall's runner-up 4 x 400m. TeammateStephen Garrett was the runner-up in the 1600m.

Lamar Bruton, of Howard Tech, began the day with a second in the 100m. He then went on to coast to a win in the 400m followed by another first in the 200m. He finished the day with a gold in the 4 x 400m (with Shahid Nurridin, Darrell Truitt, Emmanuel Hitch).

Howard Tech hurdlers took 1 - 2 in both events: (Sean Daniel/Kymere Pritchett in 100mH and Kymere Pritchett/Domingo Johnson in 300mH).

Caesar Rodney's Adrian Trammell and Daylakashawn McDonald sprint to first and second in the DI 100m. The pair also ran in the Rider's winning 4 x 100m, along with teammates Devon Horton and Austinio Brown and 4 x 200m with Brown and Stuart Higginbothom.

Girls' Highlights:

Padua's Maiya Dendy, after Day 1's state record in the qualifying round of the 100m and a State Meet Record in the qualifying round of the 200m (23.97), did not disappoint on Saturday - winning the 100m, 200m, 400m and anchoring an exciting winning 4 x 400m (with teammates Jacki D'Amico, Angie Spadaccini, and Haley Lucey) after overtaking Tatnall's Reagan Anderson on the home stretch! Their time of 3:57.77 is an Division II Record.

Raven Luckett, of DI winning team Smyrna, was the meets only winner of 4 individual events - DI's Long Jump, High Jump, 400m, and 200m!

Tatnall's Reagan Anderson takes gold in the 800m, 1600m and 4 x 800m (with teammatesJill Reinhardt, Kendra Riley, and Lindsay Voltz).

Sarah Hillman, of Polytech, was a double winner in the throwing events, grabbing firsts in both the Shot Put and Discus.

Amanda Rickert, of Charter, was also a double winner, taking firsts in the 3200m and 1600m events.

Ashley Bailey, Middletown, sets new State Meet D1 Record in the girls' pole vault - 11' 1".

Smyrna's Raven Luckett ties the State Meet Record in the long jump - 18' 7.25".

Archmere Boys (Colton Takata, John Mascioli, Evan Guerin, Will McCarthy) set new State Meet DII Record in the 4 x 800m running 8:04.49.

Charter's Kieran Tuntivate out kicks Patrick Hally, of Salesianum in the 3200m - 9:35.62.

Tatnall boys (Jack Hagood and Stephen Garrett) take 1 - 2 in the DII 3200m.

Day 2

Salesianum Wins the Team Title for the 3rd Straight Year!

7 boys race under 2:00 in the 800m. Rudolph Braxton, of Hodgson, crosses the line first in a time of 1:55.98.

5 boys break 4:20 in the 1600m - Tatnall's Stephen Garrett closes strongly to win with a time of 4:18.02. Salesianum's Pat Hally follows up Friday's 3200m win (9:28.15) with a second place here (4:18.26).

Kenny Ope, of William Penn, beats Glasgow's Elijah Brooks with a longer 2nd best jump. Both boys jumped 44-04.25 to go to the tie-break rule.

Salesianum senior JD Fillipone, tops his season-best performance in the shot put -

50-09.75.

Howard Tech's Lamar Bruton, runs his fastest time of the season in the 400m - 47.82.

The young sprinters from St. George's (Zack Bowe soph., Austyn Warren fresh., Keyjuan Selby soph., Teron Selby soph.) earn the state's best marks in both the 4 x 100m (42.57) and 4 x 200m (1:29.56).

Padua Repeats as Girls' Champion!

Maiya Dendy, of Padua, captures 4 titles - 100m (11.91), 200m (24.56), 400m (55.37), and 4 x 400m relay (4:01.70)!

Haley Lucey, also of Padua, wins the 300m hurdles in 44.76, pulling along 2 others to their season bests, sub-46 (Quiara Mayes, Hodgson - 45.48 and Leslie Ope, William Penn - 45.69).

Tatnall's Reagan Anderson and Julie Williams went 1-2 in both the 1600m and the 800m running 4:55.73/4:58.58 and 2:14.35/2:17.36.

Delcastle's 4 x 200 (Sherita Lowman, Royce Aiken, Johnasia Lewis, Alexis Reeves) earn the state's top time of the season - 1:42.64.

Reagan Anderson, of Tatnall, competes in the Elite women 800m and runs fastest girls' 800m in Delaware history, 2:08.77! Results

Julie Williams, Tatnall, wins the girls' 1600m in 4:54, good for 6th on the All Time List. She came back to finish 2nd in the girls' 800m in 2:15.03.

Other notable 1600m performances:

Caroline Foley, Tatnall, 8th place - 5:06.22;

Emily Paolucci, Padua, 10th place - 5:08.09.

Liam Magerr, Salesianum, runs Delaware's fastest time of the year in the 800m in 1:58.25. Teammate Ryan Hughes also breaks 2:00, running 1:59.57.

The boys' 3200m produced big changes in the All Time List, including 3 of the top 5 times. Under the 9:20 barrier:

Reagan Anderson, of Tatnall, narrowly misses Mile title!

Posting a personal best time of 4:50.66, Anderson ran the perfect race - only to be denied at the line by Jaimie Phalen, of Kitchener, Ontario. The margin of victory was just .06 seconds! Results

Julie Williams, also of Tatnall, places 13th in a strong field of 21 running the 3000m in a time of 9:53.87. Results

Cape Henlopen's Kadijah Doughty, places 15th in the Shot Put, throwing, 38' 8.25". Results

Padua (Angie Spadaccini, Jacki D'Amico, Haley Lucey, and Maiya Dendy) captures the Northern Delaware 4 x 400m title with a time of 3:59.87, in a large margin over runner-up Delcastle. They will compete in Saturday's Philadelphia Area Championship Race. Results

Delcastle's 4 x 100m (Sherita Lowman, Royce Aiken, Johnasia Lewis and Alexis Reeves) clocks the fastest Delaware time of the day - 48.65 - earning them a spot to run in Friday's Large School Championships. Results

Day 2 Highlights

Jack Hagood, of Tatnall, places 12th in the Mile, posting the fastest Delaware time of the season - 4:18.36. The runners were helped along by a blistering pace set by Chantilly's (VA) Sean McGorty, setting a new Penn Relays Record of 4:04.47! Results

Delcastle girls' 4 x 100m (Sherita Lowman, Royce Aiken, Johnasia Lewis, Alexis Reeves) place 8th in the Large School Championship race, bettering their previous day time - 48.38. They will compete Saturday in the Tri-State Championships. Results

St. George's boys (Zach Bowe, Austyn Warren, KeyJuan Selby, Teron Selby) clock the state's fastest 4 x 100m of the day - 43.53. The boys from Charter (Evan Carson, Jerrett Ross, Roy Lawler, Varun Sridhar) ran a season best 44.09. Results

Delcastle girls' 4 x 100m (Sherita Lowman, Royce Aiken, Johnasia Lewis, Alexis Reeves) earn Delaware's #3 All Time clocking 47.88! The girls placed 4th in the Tri-State Championship event. Results

Dover's Mykele Sanders, places 9th in the 400m hurdles, earning him #5 All Time - 55.05. Results

Howard boys' 4 x 400m (Darrell Truitt, Emanuel Hitch, Shahid Nuriddin, Lamar Bruton), win the Northern Delaware event, advancing to the Philadelphia Area Championship race. Lamar Bruton's 46.8 split, paced the team to 5th place, 3:19.69. Results
