Nike Cross Regionals Southeast, Cary NC
Padua's Lydia Olivere finishes 3rd and Tatnall's Keelin Hays finishes 5th as Delaware sends two individuals to Nike Nationals in Oregon!
Olivere ran 17:34, while Hays came in at 17:49.
In the Boys race, Tatnall's Brendan Balthis had the fastest Delaware time of the day, 15:55.

DMA Boys Claim Conference Title in a Tie Break!
Newark Charter Girls Take the Team Title!
Bryan Delle Donne, of Newark Charter, was the individual winner, covering the hilly terrain in 17:33.
In a tight contest, the boys from DMA relied on depth, and the all-important 6th man, Matt Kitto (12th/19:21), placing just two spots ahead of Newark Charter's 6th finisher.
The team of seven, Padraig Hahn (2nd/18:03), Antonio Angelini (3rd/18:11), Zach Martinez (5th/18:25), Tim McCormick (7th/18:46), Seth Immediato (11th/19:16), Kitto, and Zachary Brown (12th/19:28), will next compete in just over 2 weeks, at the New Castle County Championships.
Newark Charter's Noah Seador placed 4th running 18:22.
Newark Charter's Maddie Geiger was the girls' champion, crossing the line in 21:58. She and her teammates, Maddie McWatters (3rd/22:20), Bianca Joseph (5th/23:05), Mackenzie Smith (6th/23:37), Maya Scott (16th/25:17), and Quiana Grant (23rd/26:30) won 31-46 over runner-up, DMA.
Also in the top five were Conrad's Sara Larkin (2nd/22:10) and DMA's Nicole Harris (4th/23:00).

Showdown at Bellevue Does Not Disappoint!
On a picture-perfect cross country day - clear, cool and no wind - blistering times prevailed! Seven boys broke 16 minutes, led by Connor Nisbet of Wm Friends, who held off George Steinhoff from Salesianum. Nisbet won in 15:37, tied for #9 All Time and a Sophomore class record by 19 seconds! Behind him were Steinhoff - 15:42, Hudson Pepper (Tower Hill) in 15:48, Andrew Avila (Charter) in 15:56, Bryan Delle Donne (Newark Charter) in 15:57, Michael Keehan (Sallies) in 15:58, and Tosin Ibironke (Smyrna) in 15:59.
Andrew Avila, just a freshman, broke his class record by 10 seconds!
As a team, the boys from Sallies dominated, winning by 91 points over runner-up Charter. Tatnall was third.
For the girls, Lydia Olivere led wire-to-wire and came across in 17:22 to swap places on the All Time list with her sister Lindsey (Archmere class of 2011). Lydia now holds the #3 All Time position at Bellevue.
Keelin Hays, the sophomore from Tatnall, placed second in 17:54, and Naomi Bowser, of Smyrna, took third in 18:42.
Padua took the team title, avenging their loss to Tatnall at Manhattan, to win by 15 over the Hornets. Charter was a distant third.

Girls' Highlights:
The team from Tatnall edged Padua by just 4 points to place 6 and 7 overall in the Eastern States Championship division.
Lydia Olivere (Padua), placed 2nd/14:13, unable to recapture the lead before the finish line, after leading heading into the woods. Katelyn Touhy of runner-up North Rockland, held the first position with less than a second separating her and Olivere.
Keelin Hays (Tatnall) placed 6th in the same race to lead the Hornets. Hays time of 14:33 is #5 All Time on the Delaware list at Van Courtlandt!

Boys' Highlights:
Salesianum senior, George Steinhoff, ran the fasted Delaware time of the day - 12:56 - tying for #8 All Time Delaware runner at Van Courtlandt! He placed 19th in the Eastern States Championship race. Sallies was the clear Delaware champ over the Hornets from Tatnall, taking 16th place to Tatnall's 25th in the same race.
Also of note, Andrew Avila, the freshman from Charter, posted a speedy 13:16 to lead the Force with an 8th place finish in the Vasity C race. Avila was second among all Freshmen at the race!

DMA Boys/St. Andrew's Girls take Team Titles at the UD Invitational!
Connor Nisbet (Wm Friends), continues to rack up wins in his home state, taking the varsity race with a time of 16:48, over runner-up Alex Horgan of St. Andrew's (16:56).
Smyrna junior, Naomi Bowser, was the clear winner in the girls' race (19:25), putting over a minute's distance between her and runner-up, Caitlin Cobb of St. Andrew's (20:39).
October 5
Tidewater Classic (Brandywine, Cape, Milford, Polytech, Sussex Tech)
Milford girls were 2nd overall placing two in the top 10!
Deja Rodriguez-Santiago placed 3rd, covering the fast, spectator-friendly course in 19:41. Her teammate, Rajene Bowe, was 6th, running 20:19.
Also in the top 10 were Alexa Crowell (8th/20:41) of Brandywine, and Olivia Brozefsky (9th/20:47) of Cape Henlopen.
Ben Bamforth, of the third place team Sussex Tech, was the overall winner in the boys' race - 16:33!
Also in the top 10 were Greg Boyce of Cape Henlopen (5th/16:45), and Bryan Perry of Polytech (8th/16:57).

Smyrna's Naomi Bowser and Wm Friends' Connor Nisbet Run Fastest Delaware Times of the Day on the Recently Revised State Meet Course!
Bowser won the Girls' Varsity Large section, running 19:48.
Nisbet was the Boys' Small section champion running 16:51.
In the combined Championship/Large Boys' section, George Steinhoff, of Salesianum was third with a time of 16:53.

Wilmington Friends' Connor Nisbet Runs the Fastest Time of the Day, Winning the Sophomore Boys Race in 16:30!
Girls' Highlights:
Padua easily won the overall meet, taking full advantage of their depth in this unique scoring format.
In the freshman race, it was Sarah Donaldson (St. Mark's), who finished ahead of a field of 84 runners in 21:11.
Newark sophomore, Naomi Dawkins, won her class race in 20:00.
The premier race of the day, was run by the juniors, where Lydia Olivere was the winner nearly two minutes ahead of runner-up Naomi Bowser (19:51) of Smyrna, and Lillian Peterson (19:59) of Newark Charter - the 2nd and 3rd fastest times of the day!
Maddie Olivere (Padua) was the winner in the senior race, running 20:00.
Boys' Highlights:
Severna Park and Bohemia Manor (both from below the border), took the first two spots in the team championships, while Sussex Tech edged St. Andrew's for third.
It was St. Mark's freshman, Connor Hessler, narrowly won his class race, running 18:06.
In the sophomore race, Nisbet won by four seconds over Garrison Clark from Severna Park.
In the junior race, Bryan DelleDonne, of Newark Charter, battled two boys from Severna Park the entire distance, ending up 2nd in 16:40 (the 2nd fastest DE time of the day).
Tosin Ibironke (16:53), of Smyrna, went wire-to-wire in the senior class race to win by a comfortable margin over Sussex Tech's Ben Bamforth (17:04).
58th Annual Wm & Mary Invitational, Williamsburg, VA (Sallies)
Salesianum Place 4 in the top 18 in the Varsity A Race Claiming the Championship in a Field of 29 Teams!
George Steinhoff was the first Sentinel to cross the line, finishing 6th in 16:35.
Behind Steinhoff were Sean Banko (11th/16:40), Michael Keehan (16th/16:52), Lucien Peach (18th/17:03).
The Sals JV also took home a team title behind an individual win from Austin Barry in 17:35!
Oberod Invitational (DMA, Dover, Tatnall, Tower Hill)
Tatnall boys took the top three spots to win the seven team meet - Brendan Balthis (17:07), Nicholas Garrett (17:21) and Brad Keen (17:26).
In the girls' competition, Keelin Hays was the clear winner, pacing Tatnall to a team title in 19:25.

Tatnall's Keelin Hays/Brendan Balthis win Sophomore Races at Cherokee!
Girls Highlights:
St. Mark's freshman, Sarah Donaldson, placed 4th in her class race running the 3200m course in 12:46. Tatnall's Lainey Teklits placed 7th in 12:52.
Hays was the clear winner in the sophomore race, finishing in 11:48, some 45 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Her teammate Olivia Hardin placed 7th in 12:46.
Boys Highlights:
Balthis edged out a pair of Sallie's sophs, Sean Banko (10:15) and Michael Keehan (10:18), covering the 3200m course in 10:14. His teammate, Nicholas Garrett placed 7th - 10:29.
In the senior race, George Steinhoff (Salesianum) placed 4th in 10:12.
Sallie's junior Lucien Peach was 4th in his class race, 10:22.
