Engine mount

The engine mount was a challenge.  I had purchased a conventional mount secondhand because I already had the Diehl nose gear socket and I figured I would have to do some clever manipulation anyway.  Well it turned out to be more than just a little manipulation...it just plain didn't fit.  I could have just shimmed the lower part of the firewall some, but the hardpoints were nowhere close...and I wanted to use the hardpoints.  After going back and forth on what to do for years, I finally decided to cut the legs off the standard mount and reposition them to fit the firewall...and the results were tremendous.  I would have probably had to cut one of the legs off anyway because it was just not jigged right when it was originally welded.
