3 Steps to a GED

Each district within each state sets up their own procedures for allowing students to sign up to take the GED Tests.

Step 1 In Pinellas County, Florida the first step is to take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).

The TABE test has three parts: Reading, Math, and Language. They must be taken in person.

Email Donna at LawlessDonna@gmail.com for directions to our testing center.

Visit this site- http://www.acenet.edu/resources/GED/center_locator.cfm for a zip code search of the nearest site to you if you do not live in Pinellas County, Florida.

Step 2 A score of 9 (9th grade level) on each TABE test indicates that you are ready to try the GED Official Practice Tests.

Step 3 If you do well enough on the Official GED Practice Tests, you can sign up for the GED Tests.

Upon passing all five GED Tests you will receive a State of Florida High School Diploma in the mail.

If you do not score high enough on any of the tests (TABE or GED), you will be given remedial work and then you can retest.
