2025/2026 Grant Submission Deadline:
Submissions Due November 7, 2025 - Voting November 11, 2025 (must be present or online to vote)
The mission of the Mountain View Elementary School (MVES) PTO is to sponsor educational and social programs, foster communication, and provide supplemental classroom and all-school resources that will enhance the educational experience of MVES students and promote an environment of cooperation and success for students, faculty, families, and our community.
Bi-annually the MVES PTO will accept grant request applications from the MVES community. Applications may come from staff, parents and community members. Grant requests should align with the MVES PTO bylaws which include the following objectives:
To encourage close and effective relationships and communication among MVES children, parents, schools, and the community.
To develop united efforts among parents, teachers, administrators, children, and the general public to secure for every child the highest advantages in physical, intellectual and social education.
To sponsor and promote involvement in events and programs that encourage a sense of community both within school, and among the communities of MVES and its surrounding neighborhoods.
To complement the school-day experience with field trips, arts programs and playground equipment.
To provide ongoing enrichment programs (such as Field Day, Wonderful World of Exploration, and the School Store)
Have a clear purpose.
Address a specific need of the MVES community.
Benefit a large number of MVES students.
Benefit a particular subgroup, special population, or address closing the achievement gap in the MVES community.
Have no other avenue for funding (i.e., from district, school, corporate, parent, etc.)
Have matching funds from other sources.
Have letters of support for the project.
Any parent, teacher, staff or community member may submit an application. MVES students can apply if they are co-sponsored by a MVES teacher or staff member.
Late applications will not be considered.
If the request is identical or very similar to a previously funded project, prior success and ongoing need must be demonstrated.
For any application that proposes a project or intervention in a curriculum or in the classroom, a letter of support from the classroom teacher is required.
In order to assess each grant request fairly, the applicants requesting the grant must be present at the PTO meeting at which the grant application is reviewed.
Grants may be fully or partially funded, or not funded at all.
There will be one grant cycle during the school year.
Applicants need to complete the application form and submit it to the PTO President by the close of the business day on September 27, 2024.
Note: All grants requests will be considered within the budget allotment that is available during that funding period. The PTO President will announce the total dollars available (for all grants) prior to and during the PTO meeting when the grants requests are discussed.
Provide as much information as possible on your request form.
Grant request forms should be submitted to the PTO President via google form or the PTO mailbox (in the teacher's lounge) by the stated deadline.
Late applications will not be considered.
All grants applications that conform to the grant guidelines and submission instructions will be considered.
The PTO Board and the MVES principal will review all applications.
The applicant or representative will be required to attend the PTO Meeting to present their proposal to the PTO membership and to answer any questions.
The PTO President will advise the applicant of the status of their grant request via email (e.g., on hold, approved, or rejected). Decisions will be communicated to the applicant via email within 7 business days after PTO meeting.
Once a grant is approved, grant recipients must submit receipts for reimbursement to the Office Manager along with the Grant Approval Letter within 30 days of the approval date or event. After this date, the unused money will roll into the following funding period, unless grant recipients submit a special request to the PTO to extend the deadline. Grant money will only be dispersed for expenses outlined on approved grant application. Reimbursement will not include sales tax.
After the funded project is complete, the PTO asks grant recipients to submit a summary of the program or project (with pictures, if applicable).
Please note: All items purchased with PTO grant funds that remain after the project has been completed are the property of MVES and should be returned to the PTO, unless the PTO approves other arrangements.
