Mountain View Elementary School PTO coordinates a variety of ongoing fundraisers as well as a few one-time and periodic fundraisers. Proceeds from these fundraisers directly benefit your child's classroom, so please consider participating in one (or all) of the following programs:

One Time Fundraisers

Miles for Mountain View Fun Run

The Miles for Mountain View Fun Run is our annual school wide fundraiser.  This fundraiser helps us earn the bulk of our operational budget for the school year.  We ask the students to ask for pledges from their parents, family and friends.  The day of the event, each class runs, skips, or jumps around the large field outside school. This is a great way to encourage our kids to be active while helping raise money for school needs.  You will see more information regarding this event sent home in your child's Friday Folders and on this website.  For the 2019/2020 school year, the date for this event is Wednesday, September 25th.  If you would like to volunteer for this event, please click here or contact Julie Twiss for more information.  We are also looking to acquire corporate sponsors for this event.

Holiday Gift Shop

In December, Mountain View teams up with Fun Services to bring the Holiday Gift Shop to school.  Students can purchase gifts for family and friends in a safe, friendly, and comfortable environment. Children learn the importance of saving their money and can plan their purchases in a positive learning environment. All gifts are "kid priced" and we have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.  The gift shop is tentatively scheduled for the first week of December.  If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please click here.  For more information, contact Amy Jezierski

Used Book Sale

The Used Book Sale is an annual fundraiser that gives our students a chance to add new books to their home libraries for the summer, donate their gently used books and to support one of the beloved programs, Genius Lab!  Books are all priced from $0.25 to $5.00.  The used book sale will be in April hopefully coordinating with the Spring Concert from 8:00am-3:30pm.  Evening hours are 5:30pm-7:30pm.  For more information, contact Nikki Graveson.

Periodic Fundraisers

Cupcake Friday

Cupcake Friday is the PTO's sweetest ongoing fundraiser (not to mention one of the most popular with the kids!) On three Fridays throughout the school year, Mountain View families provide cupcakes to the school, which students can purchase for $0.25 each (one cupcake per student; gluten-free options are usually available).  There are several ways to volunteer for this awesome fundraiser.  You can be an emergency baker, a monthly baker (you bring cupcakes even though it is not your 'turn'), or volunteer to help distribute cupcakes on the actual day of the fundraiser.

In order to ensure that there are enough cupcakes for every student, we ask for volunteers from selected classes to provide 24 cupcakes each. Classes are only asked once per year to donate cupcakes.

If you would also like to help out with Cupcake Friday by being a monthly baker, an emergency baker, or help pass out cupcakes to students, please contact Jaime Forsyth or Rachel Russell.

Dine Out with Mountain View

Throughout the school year, the MVES PTO coordinates "Dine Out" nights at various restaurants in the community. These restaurants donate a portion of the night's sales to PTO!

Skate City

Throughout the school year, Skate City sponsors special nights for Mountain View Students.  Look for information to come home in your child's Friday folder or check the calendar page for more information.  Please contact Leah Byers with questions.

Rockies Baseball Game Tickets

Two or three times a year, you have the opportunity to get tickets to a Colorado Rockies game.  These tickets are discounted at the group rate.  Rockies donate a portion of the ticket sales back to Mountain View. Information will be updated as we receive it.  Questions?  Contact Sue Myers.

Box Tops for Education

Mountain View earns money for every Box Top, Campbell's soup label, and Tyson chicken A+ 1, 2, 3 label that we collect. Box Tops has changed their collection process to an all new app. It's simple, download the app to your phone and choose Mountain View Elementary as your school.  You can then scan receipts with qualifying items and MVE will automatically earn funds! Go to to learn more.

*Some items still have cut out box tops. You can still cut them out and send them in with your child. Eventually all box tops will be collected through the app.*

You can find a full list of participating Box Top products on the Box Tops for Education website. For more information about the Box Top Program, contact Dawn Ryan.  Need more Collection Sheets?  Click Here.

Grandrabbit's Bunny Bucks Program

You can earn Bunny Bucks for Mountain View by shopping at Grandrabbit’s Toy Shoppe.  Grandrabbit’s will contribute 5% of the value of your pre-taxed purchase (excluding sale items) to the school. When checking out at Grandrabbit’s, please be sure to designate you child’s school to earn Bunny Bucks. This is an easy way to stretch school budgets and help our teachers enrich students and classrooms. In January, teachers will be awarded Bunny Bucks to use at Grandrabbit’s Toy Shoppe for books, enrichment materials, supplies, and toys.  Please contact Karen Marietta with questions.

Milk Caps for MOOOLA (sponsored by Longmont Dairy)

If you drink white milk, chocolate milk, strawberry milk, orange juice, lemonade, raspberry lemonade, classic and/or cinnamon eggnog, or use half and half, or whipping cream from Longmont Dairy, save the caps, and Mountain View will earn 5 cents for each one. You can even ask your family and neighbors to collect caps for you. Rinse the caps out and bring them into school. The collection bin is in the front lobby.
