We get together to make reusable sanitary napkins for girls who would normally not have access to hygienic products. It is estimated that 23% of girls in India drop out of education because they have no access to sanitary products or toilets. Come and volunteer! All tools and materials are provided.
Please email mconnexions@gmail.com to be added to the WhatsApp group for updates.

The Street Children’s Project is run by one of Mumbai Connexions sponsored charities The Community Outreach Programme (CORP). Of all the deprived children in India’s society, street children are the most vulnerable. Many children have been abandoned, orphaned, victimized by abuse or have parents who are simply unable to provide care or a roof over their head.
Mumbai Connexions volunteers meet at the indoor creche in south Mumbai each Tuesday morning to deliver a program of singing, English language, and craft.

St. Catherine's welcomes disadvantaged children from all religions, ethnicity and caste. Some children are orphaned but do have some family members, others may have a parent who can no longer care for them, and many have witnessed extreme trauma; a place at St Catherine's provides a safe and secure environment with counselling, in addition to an education.
There are currently 75 children living at the Home on Mount Mary Road in Bandra and through programmes which extend into Village Centre initiatives the total they educate and provide welfare for, is around 1000.
St. Catherine's endeavours to make the school a fun learning environment, where the children feel safe and loved. It is in this aspect that Mumbai Connexions have previously been involved, and which Brother Joseph and Ms Lizelle hope we can once again participate in.
There are many options for volunteers, from helping inside the classrooms to after school craft projects. We will shortly be organising a visit to St. Catherine's, to see the excellent work and programmes offered by the School with a view to restarting our volunteer programme there.
In the meantime, if you would like to find out more, please do contact us!
