MTC Bible Institute Overview
The goal of MTC Bible Institute is that people will be changed through the study of God’s Word. Whether it is the life of the student or the life of another with whom the student shares the gospel, lives will be changed! The curriculum of MTC Bible Institute is designed specifically to help incarcerated men and women grow in their spiritual walk with the Lord. In the four-semesters curriculum, students are given courses to help them gain knowledge and understanding of specific books in the Bible, the major doctrines of the Bible, and how to live a godly life that honors God. The courses are based on the truths of the Bible and are trustworthy, doctrinally sound, and hold true to the fundamentals of the Christian faith.
The students may work toward receiving a one-year Bible certificate and a two-year Associates Degree. The students must complete courses in the semester in the order in which they appear in the catalog. Students may not take courses in the next Unit until the Unit they are working on is completed. Students’ beginning courses provide a solid foundation on which to build. As students progress through the program, the courses become more diverse. Therefore, all course must be taken in order. Each Unit must be completed within two years. If students choose to complete the program according to schedule, they should complete one semester every six months. Students may also complete two semesters in less than a year if they choose.
MTC Bible Institute does not require or teach Greek and Hebrews in the curriculum. Although we believe the comprehension of Greek and Hebrew is very valuable, it would be very difficult to incorporate those fields of study into our correspondence courses. The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible is used for all course study in the Bible Institute.
Remember, the purpose of working toward a degree is not just to get a degree. The purpose of your study should be to gain knowledge and understanding of God and His Word so that you can live a life that is pleasing to Him.
Admission Requirements
MTCBI will admit individuals who know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and who desire to learn more through the study God’s Word. The prospective student must have a clear testimony of salvation to be enrolled into the Institute. Unless a satisfactory testimony of salvation is given, the prospective will not be accepted into the program.
Although helpful, a high school diploma or G.E.D. is not a prerequisite for admission. As long as the prospective student is born again, can read and write English, has a desire to study the Bible, and has some self-discipline, we believe he can be successful in our Institute.
Student Conduct
Since MTCBI is a correspondence school, we cannot observe the personal conduct of our student. We expect our students to maintain a good Christian testimony. They should be a faithful witness for Christ in word and deed.
Accreditation
MTCBI is not accredited by any accrediting agency. We strive to provide a solid, biblically-based education program that will help students grow in their relation with Christ.
