For Unit 6 (August 26), Jeremy and Paul asked people to debate several aspects of the Edward Snowden/NSA case. Security v Privacy, Security v Due Process and Civil Disobedience; were his actions justified or not? Unfortunately they did not give me electronic copies of the assignment.
The Unit 5 (August 12) coaches (Steve, Erin, and Sarah) have created a list of 9 Supreme Court cases for you to research in groups of 2-3. Here is the assignment.
Scavenger Hunt for Unit 3 Meeting (July 29):
Complete as much of the Scavenger Hunt on Unit 3 as you can (in pairs). You can use the sections (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) of the We the People textbook of Unit 3 - or any other resource on the internet. Assignment for Unit 4 Meeting (July 15):
Groups create a visual representation of the Constitution and the US Government and how it works. Kate (Unit 4 coach) prepared a document with 6 concepts that she would like to have represented in the visual representation, as well as the 3 branches, amendments, etc. Here is her document.

Two moot courts: Hollingsworth v Perry and US v Windsor. Be ready to argue to justices why your assigned side should win. You will have 10 minutes to argue your case, although the justices can interrupt at any time to ask questions. The justices will consist of those who missed the first meeting, and coaches. Here is the instructions for the hearing.
