District Competition
Lake Oswego High School
2501 Country Club Rd.
Lake Oswego, OR 97034
After going across the Ross Island Bridge, go south on OR-43 (SW Macadam) for 6.1 miles. Turn right on A Avenue, which will turn into Country Club Road. The high school will be on the right. Franklin will be assigned room 220.
We will organize a carpool for students so that the students arrive no later than 5:15. (We will have last-minute preparation and team work to do) Parents will want to be here by 6:10 if they want to see the Opening Ceremony, and by 6:30 to watch the students compete. Judges will come to our assigned room to judge the students.
We will need lots of food for this date – as we will be out in Lake Oswego for 4-5 hours. Munchies, water and dinner will all be needed.
7 other high school teams will also be competing at the school - however, Franklin boosters are not allowed to watch the other teams compete. Lincoln, Lake Oswego and Lakeridge High Schools will be competing and using the same judges, but they are not directly competing against us. Our competition is David Douglas, Reynolds, Parkrose, and especially the reigning champion Grant. The organizers have traditionally not accurately predicted how long it would take for them to add up scores and make the winning announcements. We may be waiting longer – last year we did not leave until 10:15 or so. Students will not be expected to be in 2nd period at 8AM the next morning the 14th (I will be getting a substitute for the morning). We may need to sleep :)
