Welcome to Applied Grade 9 Science

About The Course:

This course enables students to develop their understanding of basic concepts in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, and physics, and to apply their knowledge of science to everyday situations. They are also given opportunities to develop practical skills related to scientific investigation.

Units of Study

Material to Bring to Class

Please have the following in your pencil case/backpack and bring every day to science class:

  • binder with lined paper and dividers

  • pen

  • pencil, eraser and pencil sharpener

  • ruler

  • calculator (calculator on your phone is acceptable this year)

  • pencil crayons

Additional items you might want:

  • glue stick

  • scissors

  • highlighter

Science Safety:

Participating in science labs is a fun way to engage in the learning. To make sure that everyone has a good experience we take science safety seriously at ODSS and at UGDSB. Before you participate in lab work in class you will go through the lesson powerpoint on the right and then you will complete the safety training as directed by Ms. Coleman
