This course enables students to develop their understanding of basic concepts in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, and physics, and to relate science to technology, society, and the environment. Throughout the course, students will develop their skills in the processes of scientific investigation. Students will acquire an understanding of scientific theories and conduct investigations related to sustainable ecosystems, atomic and molecular structures and the properties of elements and compounds, the study of the universe and its properties and components, and the principles of electricity.
Please have the following in your pencil case/backpack and bring every day to science class:
binder with lined paper and dividers
pen
pencil, eraser and pencil sharpener
ruler
calculator (calculator on your phone is acceptable this year)
pencil crayons

Participating in science labs is a fun way to engage in the learning. To make sure that everyone has a good experience we take science safety seriously at ODSS and at UGDSB. Before you participate in lab work in class you will go through the lesson powerpoint on the right and then you will complete the safety training as directed by Ms. Coleman
