Mackinaw Memorial Day Parade 2025

Date of Performance: Saturday May 24th, 2025

Location: Mackinaw City, MI

Time: 5:00 am - Meet at school

6:00 am - Leave for Mackinaw City

9:30 pm - Arrive back at our school

Current Status

• Charter Bus

  • Mr. Beresford has secured our charter bus again for this year.

  • Our bus capacity is 56 passengers.

• Chaperons

  • We have teachers going: Mr. Weber, Mr. Palmieri (Southwest HS), Mr. Berce (Ottawa Hills HS), Mr. DeVoe (Union HS), and Mr. LaJoie (C.A. Frost HS). 

  • We have several parents that have expressed interest in chaperoning.

    • Chaperones will need to provide their own transportation this year. 

• Music

  • Bands that play in this parade typically have a Patriotic selection and a Fun selection as well as Drum Line Cadences to play in-between. Our selections so far are: 

    • Stars and Stripes Forever (Patriotic Selection)

    • 25 or 6 to 4 (Fun Selection)

    • Cadences: Projam and Apollo

• Parade Banner

  • We are combining several of our GRPS High School Bands for this performance and should have a new banner from the District that reflects this. 

• Uniforms

  • We will wear our Marching Band Uniforms from earlier this year. 

Needs

• Returnable Can/Bottle Drive - Bring in your returnables to the Band room to help raise money to cover the costs of Dinner/Snacks. This drive is going from Monday April 14th to Friday May 9th, 2025.
