Tropical Waterways - Otter Exhibit

Located just around the corner from Manatee Lagoon is an otter exhibit, where WaterWorld's group of five Oriental small-clawed otters reside:

The otter exhibit is positioned within a heavily shaded area of Tropical Waterways surrounded by tall tropical trees and colourful exotic plants:

Viewing into the exhibit is provided by three tall acrylic viewing windows. Through these windows guests can view the otters underwater whilst they swim in their pool. The windows are also tall enough to give guests a view into the rest of the exhibit:

The entire viewing area is shaded from the sun, so guests can enjoy viewing the animals in comfort. The shade structure also prevents the sun from reflecting off of the viewing windows, giving guests an uninterrupted view into the exhibit:

The exhibit features heavy planting, natural substrates and lots of rocks:

The otters are given a large pool of water, which gradually deepens as it approaches the viewing windows:

The otters are also given a land area that looks like a sandy beach. It is surrounded by foliage which the otters may use for shade and privacy:
