About me: I worked various jobs during college, from waiting tables, hostessing, factory work, cleaning houses, painting, and hanging wallpaper. I also worked at Palmer Monument in Broken Bow, helping draw and cut designs (the patterns) that were sandblasted into the monuments. It was during this time that I experienced other types of work and realized that art was my passion and I wanted to stick with my art degree. I started off considering graphic design but changed my direction to teaching with the help of my adviser. This was before computers so I really didn't enjoy graphic design (by hand). I enjoy all mediums of art and wanted to share my experiences with others through teaching.
When I'm not teaching, I love spending time in nature, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. In 2012, I started my photography business and that keeps me very busy in my spare time. If I'm not taking pictures, usually I'm behind the computer, editing them, emailing clients and taking picture orders.
MY FAMILY
My husband Mark Ripp, is a contractor in town. He does any and all kinds of construction work from remodeling to building, roofing to concrete work.
My daughter Jessica has a biology degree and currently does MOES biopsies (skin cancer) - she is a histo-technician in a dermatology office. She prepares slides for the doctors to inspect. She lives on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.
My middle daughter, Jarah cuts hair at Sport Clips in Omaha. She is also a photographer and takes pictures of newborns, families, seniors, and weddings. She resides in the quiet town of Colon, Nebraska, just five miles from Wahoo!
My son Jake serves in the U.S. Air Force and lives in Vacayville, CA. He served as loadmaster for the first seven years and is now working in the office. He's been in the U.S. Air Force since 2014.
TRAVELING IS MY JAM.
My favorite travel destinations have been anywhere in the Caribbean , Hawaii and Tahiti. I absolutely love scuba diving in the ocean. I have been a certified scuba diver since 1988. Every year, we travel to a different island to check out the reefs and the underwater creatures. In 2022, I traveled to Tahiti where we swam with sharks and rays, went scuba diving and toured three islands: Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora.
