Students start by drawing a horizon line and vanishing point.
Next they draw a road going off in the distance and sidewalk next to that road.
Finally they draw guidelines for the tops and bottoms of trees to be drawn along the sides of the road. Everything is drawn using guidelines toward the vanishing point so that everything gets consistently smaller thus creating an illusion of depth.
For older students you could make your drawings stronger by shading and blending colors to use atmospheric perspective in addition to the linear perspective.
The vanishing point is used as part of the system of perspective, which enables the creation the illusion of the three-dimensional world on a two-dimensional picture surface.

Underneath every student coloured with a yellow-ish crayonThen on top of the wax crayon students painted with a paint and soap mixture to make sure the paint adhered to the wax crayon.Then they used a nail or tooth pick or some other pointed object to begin etching.
