About Me

ABOUT MRS. MARQUES

I am a hometown girl. I have lived in Auburn my entire life, and I attended school in this wonderful district. After graduating from high school, I went to Lincoln Land Community College and received an associate’s degree in elementary education. Then I furthered my education by attending the University of Illinois at Springfield. I received a bachelor’s degree in English and minored in elementary education. I also received a middle school endorsement from UIS.

After UIS, the real excitement and adventure of life began. I got married to my husband, Josh. I also began teaching grammar and composition to 7th and 8th grade students at Auburn Middle School. I taught that subject for two years. Now, I teach language arts to 6th grade students. I enjoy working with the students, and they often brighten my day. In September of 2012, my husband and I added an addition to our family with the birth of our son, Noah. Then in April of 2017, my husband and I were blessed with the addition of twin boys, Luke and Joel. It is hard to believe how fast the time flies and how quickly they grow up. We enjoy spending every moment with them, and I hope the students enjoy watching my children grow up through the various pictures I show them. Children, both mine and yours, are truly a blessing.

With living in the district, I enjoy attending the students’ athletic events and concerts. I love to see them in action. If you see me around town, don’t hesitate to say hello. Thank you for letting me be a part of your child’s life.
