This is a good vocabulary site that allows you to listen to each vocabulary word and see it in picture and word form. The site includes these concepts: alphabet, greetings, numbers, human body, clothing, colors, fruits and vegetables, different groups of animals and plants, the house, and a variety of other vocabulary lists. The human body, plants, and animals are good topics for this age group as it reinforces some of the learning done in students’ other classes. The other tab on this page also introduces basic grammar such as definite articles and basic conjugations.

This site is a good combination of practice and game review for Spanish vocabulary. This use of the site is helping students learn and practice adjectives that describe people. It looks, however, that if I were to join this site, I could develop activities quickly just by entering the new vocabulary.

This is a matching game in which students can drag Spanish house vocabulary to its English equivalent. It includes matching that focuses on specific rooms or a mix of them. Switching some of the options around on the main page also lets you go from English to Spanish. This site was borrowed from Groton Dunstable Regional Middle School – Dr. Tyler.

This is a really good website that has words and activities for a variety of topics. I borrowed it from Jessica Epps – a teacher in Virginia. You can simply print the lists of vocabulary words or match up the Spanish word with the English word or picture directly online – it then gives you your percent when you tell it to check your answers. This would be great for upper elementary as it helps students become used to using the computer and the Internet and allows them to use Spanish. However, as it includes verbs, prepositions, professions, etc… this is also a good site for older students.
