Welcome to AP World History!
Hello Everyone! I hope you're looking forward to an exciting and challenging year in AP World History (affectionately (or not) often known as WHAP), because that's what WHAP is all about. On this website you will find everything you need to succeed this year. This landing page itself contains lots of important information. Immediately below is our CLASS CALENDAR, which lets you know exactly what assignments are due when. Scroll down after that to read about the (new) course curriculum, along with the links to the 4 AP World History Time Periods and Units. Finally, below that, you'll find general course-related material (the syllabus, the College Board's Curriculum Framework, and documents about note-taking, Open Forums, etc.
The sidebar to the left contains links to the other pages here that are useful. Each WHAP time period (1 through 4) has its own page, where you'll find detailed content information for each of the Key Concepts in that time period, sub-pages for each of the units, and finally, all of the various files (powerpoint slideshows, worksheets, readings, etc) that accompany that time period. PRETTY EVERYTHING YOU GET AS A HANDOUT IN CLASS WILL BE ON THOSE PAGES!
There are pages for the essays we'll be working on this year, too - click on "The WHAP Essays" to access those. The "WHAP Review Materials" should be pretty self-explanatory. You'll be accessing the treasure trove there quite frequently beginning in March and April in preparation for the AP Exam in May. Finally, the page entitled "Post-Exam Materials" contains materials we'll be using at the end of the year after you have (successfully) aced the AP Exam.
If you've got any questions about using this site or the materials on it, don't hesitate to let me know or ask me questions. I'm looking forward to a great school year - I hope you are too!
