Fine Art Credit, Full Year/1.0 Credit, Grade 9 - 12
This orchestra is a non-audition group providing a year-long course for the string player who has three or more years of orchestra experience. While some individual instruction will occur in class, the main goal will be the performance of orchestra literature as a group. Students will also learn music theory and history. Orchestra students may travel to an out of state performance opportunity on a bi-annual basis.Â
Learning Recommendations: Members of the orchestra should have three years of experience playing their string instruments. Violists and Violists must provide their own instruments for classroom use. Instruments will be available for school use by cello and bass players; students must have their own cellos and basses for home practice.

Equipment to be provided by student: instrument and performance attire. Celli and basses will be provided for school use with the payment of a rental fee.
Fees: $50.00 class fee to cover festival performance transportation costs, class method book, and class apparel. Students must also pay for ASB card verification, orchestra uniform (black dress shirt, black dress pants or skirt, and black dress shoes), renting of instruments (if applicable), and field trips. Assistance is available upon review.
