Mount Pleasant is a comprehensive high school located in the northern suburbs of Wilmington, Delaware. There are approximately 1,000 students enrolled in grades 9 through 12. Mount Pleasant High School has been part of the Brandywine School District since 1978.
Currently, the drama department produces 3 productions per academic year. In the fall, MPHS Drama produces a play premiering around November. Upon return from winter break, the student directed one-act play festival is performed for three nights only in the month of January. Jumping in right after the one-act play festival, MPHS Drama begins rehearsal for the spring musical production, premiering around March.
All productions, and shows happen in the newly renovated Mount Pleasant High School auditorium. The 1,200 seat auditorium is the largest of all schools in the Brandywine School District, and one of the largest in the state. The auditorium is equipped with a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system.
All proceeds from ticket sales, ad sales, and sponsorships go directly to fund the productions and the drama program. We are self-sustaining, and independently run from Mount Pleasant High School's operating budget.
We thank all parents, friends, Mount Pleasant High administrators, and sponsors for their unwavering support.
See you at the theatre!
