We talked a little about the Moodle Association, this might be worth approaching as a consoritum of some kind once a decision about development had been made and the costs could be shared between instutions, though this could end up causing more problems than it solved.

We talked about improving the way that assessments were set up in Moodle and how the options can be quite confusing. It seemed that one plugin that might help would be a question and answer form that was used to set up an assignment so the user would see a series of questions with their relevant choices:

  • When should the assignment be open/closed

  • Will you allow late submissions

  • etc.

An option to add users as group members and to assign markers at the time of creating the assignment

Using this kind of a method would make the purpose of the assignment explicit. Options for the assignment to be created as a draft so changes could be made at a later date would also be useful especially if the set up could be pushed from Moodle into Turnitin.
