The Works Cited Page

INFORMATION NEEDED TO COMPLETE A WORKS CITED PAGE

The Works Cited page is where all the bibliographic information goes for the sources you used to complete your research project. This allows your teacher to track down the sources you used in your research. It also shows them the depth and diversity of your research.

The basic information that is needed for any source you use is:

  • Author Name.
  • Title of source.
  • Title of container (magazine, newspaper, book, etc.),
  • Other contributors (if any),
  • Version (if any),
  • Number (if any),
  • Publisher,
  • Publication date,
  • Location (page number or URL).

Not all of these items will be available for each item you used. Use as many as you can.
