Does this page make sense?

This page could be used for public discussion, but the announcements gadget that runs it doesn't support threaded posting and replies, so it would be a bit awkward. I created the Google Group mitmrt-turbo which could be used for a collaborative discussion forum, but the functionality overlaps with the already-existing MIT mailing list. Ideas are welcome.
