2.2 Be able to distinguish between physical, chemical, nuclear, intensive and extensive properties of matter.

2.3 Know the difference between an endothermic and exothermic reaction.

2.4 Be able to identify and know the differences between solids, liquids, and gases in terms of particle spacing diagrams and particle energy and spacing.

2.5 Know the relationship between the heat and temperature of a substance before, during, and after a phase change.

2.6 Be able to apply the kinetic molecular theory to the phases of matter (solid, liquid, and gas).

2.7 Be able to calculate the heat change of a substance using the mass, specific heat, and change in temperature of the substance.

2.8 Be able to perform heat of phase change calculations.
