Membership

Membership for the MTBA Region is by household. You are automatically a member of the MTBA Region if:

1. You are a member of NFAA (automatic membership with CBH in a geographically assigned region). You may live outside of the region, but must be a member of a MTBA Regional Club: Black Mountain Bowmen, Bowhunters Unlimited, Kings Mountain Archers, Salinas Bowmen or Santa Cruz Archers.

2.  All members of the five MTBA Regional clubs with CBH/SAA or NFAA membership are eligible for awards at the tournaments and will earn one or more Club of the Year points for their club.

Restrictions for entering our tournaments:

1. Starting 2026, in alignment with CBH Bylaws, we will no longer accept USA Archery membership as a means of participating.  These tournaments are hosted for the benefit of our 5 regional member clubs.

2. Starting 2026, due to high participation rates, we will no longer accept Guest entries at our tournaments.  

3. An archer must join a regional club and CBH/SAA before entering our tournaments.

To join Santa Cruz Archers you must start by coming to a club meeting the first Tuesday of the month, 7:30pm.  To learn more go to: https://santacruzarchers.com/joining-santa-cruz-archers/   Santa Cruz Archers has a city-owned course and indoor range and monthly club meetings are located at 141 Brookwood Drive, Delaveaga Park, Santa Cruz. 

To join Salinas Bowmen you must have a sponsor and attend a club meeting to get started.  To learn more go to: http://salinasbowmen.org/membership/   Salinas Bowmen has a private course located at 238 Crazy Horse Canyon Rd, Salinas, CA 

To join California Bowmen Hunters/ State Archery Association (CBH/SAA) go to: https://cbhsaa.net/JoinCBH    This membership enables you to qualify for all Regional tournaments and a few State Championships, but not the State Target, State Field or State Indoor Championships or any National tournaments/championships.

To join the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) go to: https://nfaausa.com/  This membership includes the CBH/SAA membership and enables you to qualify for all Regional, State and National archery tournaments/ championships.
