2026 Regional Tournament Schedule

Pictured to the left is the "Club of the Year" plaque that a club in CA 56 Region may obtain by earning the most club points in a calendar year. The winning club gets to hang this award plaque the entire next year. New starting 2023 - The winning club will also receive a smaller plaque to keep.

This competition was created in 2014 by Karen Keating and Karen Stewart. 2025 will mark our 10 year MTBA Club of the Year Anniversary! There are records showing the existence of Mission Trails Bowhunter Association from as far back as the 1950s.

Unmarked or Marked 3-D Tournament

Description: Outdoor course, 30 3-D Targets, 1 arrow per target

Field Tournament

Description: Outdoor course, 42 paper targets, 3-4 arrows each. 14 Field, 14 Hunter, 14 Animal

Kings Mountain Archers, 2050 Kings Mountain Rd, Woodside, CA in Huddart County Park, San Mateo County. Check in 7:30-8:30 a.m. for 9:00 start.

Awards given at the end of this tournament for qualified members.

Target 900 Tournament

Description: Outdoor range on one shoot line, shooting 3 distances. 6 arrows per end, 5 ends per distance.

August 8 & 9, 2026

Black Mountain Bowmen, Santa Teresa Park, San Jose

Awards given at the end of this tournament, on Sunday only, for qualified members.

Pre-Registration for all entries/all locations will be REQUIRED

Indoor 450 Tournament

Description: Indoor, 5-color Vegas targets, 3 arrows per end, 15 ends, for a total of 45 arrows at 20 yards

November 7-22, 2026 - Time slots may fill up. Many locations and times to choose from! (2026 dates for hosts TBD)

Palomo Archery, Palo Alto. Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2 at 9:00am and 12 noon. Limited to 18 shooters per time slot.
Jim Cox Archery, 28 Quail Run Cir D, Salinas Sunday, November 2 at 9:00am
Santa Cruz Archers, Santa Cruz. Saturday, November 8, 10am & 1pm/ Sunday, November 9, 10am & 1pm. Limited to 20 shooters per time slot.
Predator's Archery, Gilroy. Saturday, November 15, 9:00am & 1:00pm/ Sunday, November 16, 9:00am & 1:00pm. Limited to 16 shooters per time slot.

About the MTBA Region

The Mission Trails Bowhunter Association (MTBA) region is comprised of five clubs in the South Bay area. These are: Black Mountain Bowmen, Bowhunter's Unlimited, King's Mountain Archers. Santa Cruz Archers, and Salinas Bowmen. Each one has unique qualities that make them fun and challenging archery courses.

We hold four regional tournaments each year: Unmarked 3-D, Field Round, 900 Round, and an Indoor 450. Check the tournament schedule for the dates of these events. All events are open to Regional Members and guests. Visit the Tournament Info page for more information.
